Established in 2018, the Kopa Trophy has set a new eligibility criterion this year, restricting participation to footballers who will not turn 21 before July 31, 2026. The panel of judges for the men's Kopa Trophy comprises former Ballon d'Or winners, each of whom selects their top three candidates from a list of ten, assigning 5 points to their first choice, 3 points to their second, and 1 point to their third.
